International students can benefit from 1:1 support from Advisers through our range of appointments. We can help you with your career plans, job search strategy and anything else career-related. Our Advisers can also give you feedback on applications for the UK job market.
Please note that we cannot give visa advice or give you a list of companies who will sponsor visas.
We run regular skill events and host employers on campus. You can find out what is coming up and book your place in MyFuture.
We also regularly run events exclusively for international students on UK recruitment, CVs and cover letters, and interview skills.
Keep an eye out on MyFuture to see what is coming up and book your place.
We have a range of resources specifically for international students. Find these by searching international students in the resources tab on MyFuture.
The Careers Service blog often has posts with dedicated advice for international students. You can subscribe to the blog so you get notified whenever we post. Go to the blog
More help from the University
The Careers Service is the main provider of help with your career plans, but here are some other support services that provide other relevant help and support:
Immigration and visa advice
Staff at the Careers Service are not trained to give immigration advice. To discuss any visa/immigration issues, contact the Student Immigration Advisers.
English language support
The Careers Service can help you with your CVs and applications, but can’t proofread and correct your documents.
You may be able to access help from the Academic Skills Centre (ASC). One-to-one tutorials are available free of charge from the ASC for current students. These can be used for checking documents such as your CV or covering letter. See the ASC website for further details.
